Question: What is a good 16ish footer sailboat i could build for Michigan lakes?
I’m 27 and in school.. i always find myself filling my time with numerous activities.. it’s now time to build a boat. I’m hoping someone could give me some pointers on a style of sailboat around 16 foot that i could get plans for and build to be sailed on Lake St. Clair and other lakes around here. Should I avoid flat bottomed boats for our great lakes?

Question: How much does a SWATH yacht cost to build versus a traditional mono hull?
A SWATH hull yacht seems ideal for sea travel. I was wondering why they aren’t being used more and if it was a bid difference in cost to build as a contributing factor?

I’ve never heard of a “SWATH” yacht. What do the letters stand for?… sounds interesting.

As with just about anything, cost difference probably is a contributing factor, but I haven’t a clue what that really means.
